An Autumn Walk Through Lasborough: Exploring the Beauty of the Cotswolds
The last moments of October... I'm the one documenting the seasons through my videos and writing, and yet, I still can’t wrap my head around how fast time flies. This October has been lovely - I feel like we’re having a beautiful Autumn this year here in the southwest of England. Plenty of sunny days, and although it has definitely gotten colder in recent weeks, the colourful trees and golden leaves gleaming in the Autumn sunshine make going for walks worth it... with the promise of a warm coffee afterward :)
Today, I'm sharing an extended video of our walk in Lasborough. It’s only a tiny place, but somehow we always end up spending at least an hour there, wandering around the church and walking up and down the road with its beautiful view of the estate and church, surrounded by trees currently changing colours for Autumn.
Lasborough is an ancient settlement in Gloucestershire, in the beautiful Cotswolds, lying on the Roman road from Bath to Chavenage Green. In 1086, the Domesday Book recorded a settlement of 13 households, with only the manor house and the church surviving today. The manor house dates back to 1319, rebuilt around 1610 as Lasborough Manor. The church of St Ann was rebuilt in 1862 and was even featured in the BBC TV series Lark Rise to Candleford.
After our stroll, Andrei and I found a new coffee place in the Cotswolds—The Barn at Chavenage. Great coffee in a beautifully renovated barn with a very cosy, rustic feel—what more could you ask for?
