Bagendon village in cotswolds

Nestled in the heart of the world-famous Cotswolds, Bagendon is a tiny village, a real-life Hobbiton straight out of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantastical world. This quaint place, with its rolling hills, charming cottages, and lush countryside, offers visitors a magical experience reminiscent of the Shire.

This quaint place, with its rolling hills, charming cottages, and lush countryside, offers visitors a magical experience reminiscent of the Shire. As English is my second language, I often use Google to check how to properly pronounce the names of places. Bagendon: not "bag-end-on" but "badge-en-don." Although I completely accept the correct pronunciation, in my head, this village will forever be "bag-end-on" (from Bag End, the home of Bilbo from LOTR). While Bagendon may not be as famous as some other Cotswold destinations, its hidden gem status is part of its charm. Whether you climb to the top of a hill or stroll through the countryside, you'll be treated to breathtaking views that could easily be mistaken for the landscapes of The Shire. One of Bagendon's most charming features is its quaint cottages. These rustic abodes, with their thatched roofs and cob walls, resemble the cozy homes of Hobbits. The cottages are surrounded by beautiful gardens bursting with colorful flowers and fragrant herbs. You can't help but imagine Hobbits tending to their gardens and enjoying a peaceful, simple life. Bagendon seems to have sprung from the pages of a fairy tale; this charming hamlet has a unique and timeless allure that makes it well worth a visit.
